June 29, 2002 - Stevenson Park, Middletown, New Jersey.......The weather was great and there were plenty of spectators at our first Middletown Canine Frisbee competition. It was fun seeing Bear, the lovely Lab Tess, my good friend Smokin (who came all the way from Mystic Connecticut) and all the other frisbeee dogs. Unfortunately I had my mind on things other than the competition (Tess!) and didn't do a very good job. | |
Tory Myshka and Smokin paired to win the Junior Handler prize......and finished 12th overall!
We had some "World Class" freestyle competitors so we ran an impromptu Freestyle competition. I think everyone enjoyed seeing some great canine frisbee freestyle. I know I did! Click here to see the top winners in each class.

Thanks to Skyhoundz for supplying the frisbees and plaques for the 1st and 2nd place Distance Accuracy finishers. Thanks also to Iams and the Lakewood BlueClaws who donated prizes. The Iams biscuits are delicious! Prizes were given to the top six Distance Accuracy places, top two Freestyle and 1st place Junior Handler. Every competitor received a "goodie bag" with their official Hyperflyte K10 Skyhoundz frisbee, a Rudy the FrisbeeLab commemorative frisbee, a can of Iams food and some Iams biscuits.
....... and thanks to the Middletown Parks Department for allowing us to use Stevenson Park....it was a great setting!
