Saugerties NY - Catskill Classic FrisbeeDog Competition - 10/21/2000
Saturday (October
21, 2000) we went to Saugerties, NY for the 3rd annual, Catskill Classic. The
weather was perfect! It was a beautiful Autumn day in the Catskill Mountains of New
York State. The trees were in full color and the frisbee dogs were plentiful.
The best frisbeedogs in the Northeast were in attendance. There were
competitors from Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey and New
York. If you have never attended this event you MUST give it a try next year.
After the event many of the competitors stayed for pizza, salads and cake. There
were demonstrations and just a lot of fun. We were assured that the Catskill Classic
will be held again in October next year. Look for the date of the Saugerties event
(Catskill Classic) when the Alpo 2001 schedules are developed.

We were sorry to learn that Johnnie McGuire, the founder of the event was in the
hospital and could not attend. Johnnie wanted his wife Phyllis to continue with the
event in his absence ...... and a very fine job she did! We understand Johnnie is
expected home this weekend and wish him a speedy recovery! See you next year
Johnnie.
