Results will be posted here in the coming days. Stay tuned!

On Sunday, October 2nd, man's best friend takes to the skies to compete in the 36th year of organized canine disc events, the 2011 Skyhoundz New Jersey Canine Disc championships. This year, our event is again sanctioned by Skyhoundz as the NJ Championships!

The Yankee Flyers Dog & Disc Club is again sponsoring this canine disc competition at:

Stevenson Park
940 West Front Street
Middletown, NJ
(directions)

Competitors sign-up starts at 9:30 AM and closes promptly at 10:15 so we can get started on time (10:30 A.M.-really!).   Free competition discs will be available to those who come early..... while the supply lasts.

Each team will compete in two rounds of Distance Accuracy competition and optionally a freestyle competition..  If you want to learn more about what that entails see the following:
Distance Accuracy Rules and Layout,
Freestyle Rules and General Overview / Rules

The above is a slide show of photos taken at the 2010 Middletown Skyhoundz NJ State Championships.

Come and compete!    If you have a dog that can catch a Frisbee, is sociable around people and other dogs, is in good health and current on all shots, come  and compete. Mighty mutts and playful purebreds that can catch a disc are invited to enter.    We're expecting a lot of "first-timers" so don't feel intimidated (your dog won't).  There is no pressure, it’s a lot of fun and your dog will love you for it!

Spectators are welcome and encouraged!   Bring the lawn chairs and come see the fur fly.  There is no admission fee for either spectators or competitors.

As everyone knows, in New Jersey we give directions based on NJ  Turnpike and Garden State Parkway exits.  Stevenson Park is at 940 West Front Street, about a mile off Garden State Parkway Exit 109.  Please note!  Although the park is indeed in Middletown, NJ, their mailing address is Red Bank, NJ.  If you try and find the park via Mapquest, other Internet map sites or your own GPS use "Red Bank" as the City!  Frankly it's easy to find by using my directions, see Directions to Stevenson Park or feel free to send me an e-mail.

One important note!  There are NO rest room facilities at Stevenson Park so plan accordingly.
