SAINT JOSEPH SCHOOL
Education Plus
An American Catholic School for the 21st Century
We believe that our school is a great gift to our Church and our community.
In collaboration with our colleagues, here and in Catholic Schools throughout
the country, we commit ourselves to meet the challenges of the future as an
American Catholic School of the 21st Century. Grateful to those who went
before us and strengthened and empowered by the Spirit active in the gifts of
all who shape our mission, we make this pledge:
As an American Catholic School of the 21st Century:
We will champion superior standards of academic excellence in which Gospel
. . . . Values and Catholic Church teachings are integrated in the lives and
. . . . work of all members of our school community;
We will value and empower leadership that is visionary, innovative and collegial;
We will open our minds and hearts and doors to an increasingly diverse world;
. . . . we will prepare our students' minds and hearts and hands to live wisely
. . . . and generously in a technologically complex and interdependent world;
We will aggressively seek the support of the entire Catholic community,
. . . . undertake comprehensive development programs, and offer
. . . . opportunities for all who are committed to our mission to join us in
. . . . shaping our future;
We will join forces with others to advocate and promote public policies that
. . . . offer all parents the opportunity to choose the school they believe is best
. . . . for their children. (Momentum April/May 1995)

FACULTY, PARENT & STUDENT PARTNERSHIP
Teachers and parents are partners in nurturing the growth of Saint Joseph School
students. Both act as role models in the formation of Christian values and, both support
and enable the child to reach his or her fullest potential.
The faculty is well-qualified, dedicated, and committed to Catholic education. Parents
work hand-in-hand with faculty and staff to provide support by:
- Sponsoring special cultural, social, educational and sports programs and events;
- Assisting in food-services program, library, health office, and classrooms;
- Participating in special classroom programs;
- Guiding children's spiritual growth by attending sacramental preparation
gatherings;
- Assisting in community service projects;
- Coaching in extracurricular sports' activities; and
- Raising funds.
There are countless opportunities available for parents who desire to share their time and
talent with our children.
We are proud of our Parent-Teacher Association, who is well-recognized throughout
Monmouth County and the Trenton Diocese. Our students learn, by the example of their
parents and teachers, the value of involvement and commitment.
